The story on the dial
The workshop's second piece to start from Jules Verne. It takes nothing from the first.
With a theme that has worked once, the temptation is to repeat it with small changes: the same frame, another detail, another satisfied client. The workshop does not work that way, and not out of an abstract principle. If the second piece resembled the first, the first owner would one day learn that his object has a brother, and what he bought is no longer what he was promised.
The same world, then, and two compositions that do not recognise each other. The only thing inherited from the first piece is what was learned in making it.
