One-off or limited edition: the difference and four things to check

An article from October 2026 on the line between a limited edition and a one-off: an edition, however small, has a second identical example; a one-off has none. Augustin Watches applies the closed design, the rule Augustin set out to LIFE.ro in March 2022: a delivered design is not made again.

Sync-Press gives four checks anyone can make, starting from the number of identical pieces and from the certificate. An edition's certificate carries a fraction; a one-off's has nothing to put one on.

Each Augustin piece leaves with a certificate of authenticity, in a hand-made walnut or oak box: a single object to describe, with no series to place it in.
