A one-off watch to order: the five stages of a piece, from conversation to delivery

A report from September 2026 on the path of a commission at Augustin Watches, in five stages that always run in the same order: the request, the conversation the concept comes out of, the drawing, the choice of calibre, case, dial material and strap, then the making of the dial, the assembly and the delivery, with a certificate of authenticity, in a hand-made wooden box.

The long part is not the making. “The concept takes longer than the execution. One client waited a year,” Augustin told Revista FPM in 2018. The conversation is not about the model wanted, but about the life of the person who will wear the watch, from which a single element is kept, strong enough to carry a dial.
